Youth Mining Camp Competition is a national scale event that is held regularly every two years by the Mining Engineering Student Association, National Development University “Veteran” Yogyakarta. This event is held as a form of friendship, in order to increase competence and knowledge about the world of mining. In addition, YMCC 2021 aims to train healthy competitiveness and as an encouragement to form a superior mining generation in the future.

The Youth Mining Camp Competition 2021 with the theme “Technological, Innovation For The Sustainable Mining Industry”, also held a Society Project which is a series of social activities as a form of community service. This activity took place from March 1 to June 12, 2021. One of the activities initiated in the YMCC Society Project 2021 is the Construction of a Water Installation for Irrigation of Community Agricultural Lands in Sokoliman Hamlet, Bejiharjo Village, Karangmojo, Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta.

The selection of the location of Sokoliman Hamlet itself is not without reason. The geographical factor of Gunung Kidul Regency which is dominated by limestone rock types causes water to be difficult to retain on the ground so that it affects the condition of the region including Bejiharjo Village which is often hit by water drought. Of course this also has an impact on the stability of the local community, especially in the agricultural sector.

Making Water Installation as one of the long-term planning efforts to overcome the environment affected by drought so far. This water installation itself utilizes river flow so that it can be distributed evenly to all agricultural land in Sokoliman Village. River water is used as an alternative source of raw water because of its continuous availability. As a result, the irrigation of Sokoliman Hamlet's agricultural land will no longer experience drought, even in the dry season.

 Of course, through this activity, it is hoped that it can help improve and improve the social life of the people of Sokoliman Hamlet, Bejiharjo Village and also help the economic stability of the local community to continue to develop towards a better direction.
